The Muse

The sheer variety of symbols and artefacts in use across the ages and geographies does not necessarily point to a multitude of assumptions and values from which they spring. Timeline: Origin of Iconism in Indic Tradition

These pages are a companion to a timeline I created to explain the origin of Iconism in Indic tradition. The timeline itself was created partially in response to a question on quora: Why do Hindu gods have many heads and arms. I am planning to write a series of articles on idolatry and iconism in general, and pages in this series will also feature in that continuity.
