The sheer variety of symbols and artefacts in use across the ages and geographies does not necessarily point to a multitude of assumptions and values from which they spring. The study of mythology and folklore then, is a reverse approach to anthropology. This blog is dedicated to my favourite symbols, tales and artefacts - both ancient and contemporary.

Humanity
This is a picture of my study, the room I spent most of my waking time in. Not that I actually study though.
Lenin stands for much more than communism. He stands for radical Industrial Relations, and Atheism as well. Could you guess why I titled this pic Humanity?
This IS my pooja room. The point of this picture is to show what I hold to be the true differentiator of humans from every other creature: The power to hold and appreciate two opposing thoughts simultaneously in your head without feeling the need to attach/detach to either of them.
